We were counting on publishing the Arabic version by 12/12/2012 ... Unfortunately did not happened. Had contracted some individual from New Delhi who -supposedly- was a teacher of Arabic. References were checked, yet the individual after taking five months to do the translation, and the money paid in stages, defrauded. He had translated into Arabic using Google Translate. It was barely readable to Arab speakers. Fortunately the fraud was discovered. The police in India was contacted, and the con-artist, afraid of being arrested an thrown in jail, returned the moneys he had collected. Therefore, losses ended up being insignificant, yet it was a terrible experience, and a huge disappointment. In mid 2013 a couple of Saudi students doing
post-graduate courses in Physics at MIT offered to do the translation, as well
as the proofreading. They new it was a secular book that questioned the
existence of God. They indicated that was OK. Yet, a couple of weeks
later, when everything seemed to be running fast on wheels, they had "cold
feet", concerned with potential repercussions at home. That despite they had
been informed that they could stay anonymous. Well, not to avail.
This -very needed publication in Arabic- had to be postponed twice. A huge
market of individuals who badly need some revisionism on their draconian
beliefs. If you know of any courageous individual, preferably living in the West, would be nice to hear from him/her. Thanks. |
